Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, witnessed a heart-wrenching road accident on Saturday, resulting in the tragic loss of five lives. A car carrying six individuals met with an accident near Pani Wala Band on Mussoorie Dehradun Marg Jhadipani Road. According to police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into a deep ditch.
Four of the deceased were students from IMS Unison University in Dehradun, while one hailed from Dehradun Institute of Technology University. They had embarked on a trip to Mussoorie when tragedy struck. The lone survivor, Nancy, a 24-year-old student, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene to retrieve the victims from the wreckage. Three people, including two male students and a female student, lost their lives at the scene. The remaining three occupants were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. However, two more succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Aman Singh Rana, 22; Dingyansh Pratap Bhati, 23; Tanuja Rawat, 22; Ashutosh Tiwari, 24; and Nayanshri, 24. The news of this tragic incident has shocked and saddened the local community. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace for the departed souls.
