A tragic boiler explosion in Thane’s Dombivali area on Thursday claimed the lives of seven individuals, leaving several others injured. The incident occurred at Amudan Chemical Company in Dombivli MIDC, causing widespread damage to neighboring factories and residential properties.
Following the blast, Maharashtra Chief Minister ordered a high-level inquiry to investigate the incident and ensure accountability. He announced compensation of INR 5 lakhs to the kin of each deceased person and assured that the government would cover the treatment expenses of the injured.
The intense blast damaged six to seven neighboring factories and residential properties. In response, the government has decided to relocate highly hazardous companies, which fall under the Red category, to non-residential areas to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra provided updates from the incident site, stating that adequate relief measures were being provided. Emergency teams, including NDRF, TDRF, and fire personnel, were deployed to assist with rescue and recovery operations.
The administration is working diligently to provide support to those affected by the blast. The Chief Minister has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
