Tragic Crash in SE Oklahoma Claims Three Lives

The Del City Police Department has released the names of the victims involved in a deadly crash that occurred in southeast Oklahoma, taking the lives of three individuals. Helen Thompson, 54, was identified as the driver of the vehicle involved in the tragic incident. Sadly, two young children, a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old, also succumbed to their injuries sustained during the crash. Additionally, two other children, ages 9 and 13, were injured in the accident. According to police reports, the 13-year-old remains in critical condition, while the 9-year-old miraculously walked away from the crash with no apparent injuries. Major Brad Cowden of the Del City Police Department stated that speed was strongly suspected to be a contributing factor to the crash. Major Cowden further elaborated that the group was believed to be returning home from an event and were traveling at an excessive speed, which led to the loss of control of the vehicle. Police officials disclosed that Thompson was the grandmother of the two surviving children. The two children who tragically lost their lives in the crash were neighbors who had recently relocated to the area from Louisiana. The entire community is deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life, and their heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones affected by this devastating incident.
