On Monday morning, a 10-year-old boy awoke to the tragic aftermath of a murder-suicide that claimed the lives of his mother, Lindsay Candy, 39, and three of his brothers: Dylan Candy, 18; Ethan Candy, 14; and Lucas Candy, 12. According to Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight, the children’s father, Jonathon Candy, 42, fatally shot his wife and sons before turning the gun on himself at their Mirage Street home.
The young boy, who was the sole survivor of the incident, called police around 9:30 a.m. to report the horrific discovery. Sergeant Knight described the scene as a ‘massacre,’ stating that the children had been ‘hunted down and killed.’
Investigators are still attempting to determine the motive behind the shootings, as the family had no prior history of domestic abuse or calls to police. The tragic event has left the Oklahoma City community reeling, with many expressing shock and sadness over the lives lost. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events that led to this heartbreaking incident.
