Tragic TRP Game Zone Fire Incident: Rajkot Police Arrest Manager and Partner

On Sunday, following the devastating TRP game zone fire incident in Rajkot, the police detained the entertainment facility’s manager, Nitin Jain, and Yuvrajsinh Solanki, a partner in Raceway Enterprise, which ran the game zone. The police also filed an FIR against a number of people, including the owners of Dhaval Corporation and Raceway Enterprise, on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, attempted culpable homicide, causing injury by an act endangering life, and causing grievous injury by an act endangering life. The accused did not have the necessary firefighting equipment and had not received the local fire department’s no-objection certificate (NOC).

The case has been transferred to the crime branch, which has formed four teams to apprehend the four suspects who are still at large. The Rajkot police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Joint Additional Commissioner of Police Vidhi Chaudhary, has been assigned the investigation. Additionally, the Gujarat government has established a five-member SIT led by state Additional Director General of Police Subhash Trivedi to look into the event.

Earlier, on Saturday, 27 people perished in a tragic fire incident at Rajkot’s TRP game zone in the Nana Mava neighborhood. All of the accused have been charged with culpable homicide that is not considered murder.

Compensation: State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced an ex-gratia payment of 4 lakh to the relatives of each victim and 50,000 to each injured individual. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of 2 lakh from the PM’s National Relief Fund for the victims’ next of kin.
