Tragic Wall Collapse in Hyderabad Claims Seven Lives

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, was struck by a tragic incident on Tuesday evening, as a retaining wall at an under-construction apartment collapsed in the Bachupally area. The devastating collapse, attributed to heavy rainfall, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including a four-year-old child.

The victims, who hailed from Odisha and Chhattisgarh, were migrant workers engaged in the construction project. The Bachupally police confirmed the identities of the deceased, who were initially trapped under the debris.

Efforts to recover the bodies commenced early on Wednesday, with an excavator deployed to clear the rubble. The incident underscores the widespread impact of heavy showers across Telangana, which disrupted daily life in several areas.

To address the situation, the Disaster Relief Force (DRF) teams were deployed to assist with waterlogging and fallen trees in various parts of the city. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials, including Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Danakishore and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose, visited affected areas and provided directives to DRF teams on the ground.
