TransNusa Soars into Medical Tourism with Strategic Partnerships

TransNusa Takes Flight into the World of Medical Tourism

TransNusa Airlines, known for its commitment to innovative service offerings, has taken a bold step into the burgeoning medical tourism sector. The airline has entered into strategic partnerships with two leading healthcare providers in Malaysia, Sunway Medical Centre and Asia OneHealthCare, offering its passengers access to a range of exclusive healthcare benefits.

This collaboration creates a win-win scenario for both TransNusa and its passengers. The airline expands its service portfolio, catering to a growing demand for integrated travel and healthcare experiences. Passengers, on the other hand, gain access to top-notch medical facilities at competitive prices, making healthcare accessible and convenient.

Exclusive Benefits for TransNusa Passengers

TransNusa passengers can now avail themselves of special packages and discounts at three prominent medical facilities: Sunway Medical Centre, Subang Jaya Medical Centre, and Ara Damansara Medical Centre. These partnerships provide passengers with a unique opportunity to combine their travel plans with healthcare needs, making their journeys both productive and rewarding.

At Sunway Medical Centre, TransNusa passengers can enjoy a 50% discount on the Signature Elite Health Screening Package, valued at RM1500 (USD348). This translates to a special price of RM750 (Estimated USD174) for TransNusa travelers. As an added perk, passengers will also be eligible for complimentary seat upgrades, making their journey even more comfortable.

Passengers flying with TransNusa can also benefit from a 20% discount on all medical check-ups at Subang Jaya Medical Centre and Ara Damansara Medical Centre. To further enhance the convenience, TransNusa will provide complimentary airport transfers between Subang Airport and both medical centers, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

Connecting Healthcare and Travel

The strategic location of these medical centers near Subang Airport, also known as Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, further strengthens the appeal of this initiative. Ara Damansara Medical Centre is just 7.9 km away from the airport, making it easily accessible. Sunway Medical Centre is located 14 km from the airport, while Subang Jaya Medical Centre is situated 13 km away.

New Flight Route Connecting Jakarta and Subang

To facilitate seamless travel for its passengers, TransNusa will soon be operating a daily flight between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s Terminal 3 in Jakarta and Subang Airport. The flight, designated 8B 699, will depart Jakarta at 4:10 PM and land in Subang at 7:00 PM. The return flight, 8B 698, will leave Subang Airport at 7:30 PM, reaching Jakarta by 8:30 PM.

This new route will be serviced by TransNusa’s A320 narrow-body aircraft, which offers comfortable seating for 174 passengers. Tickets for this route start at RM240 (approximately USD54), offering competitive pricing and making air travel accessible for a wider range of travelers.

TransNusa’s Resurgence and Continued Expansion

TransNusa’s journey has been marked by resilience and a commitment to innovation. After suspending operations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline successfully resumed flights in October 2022 under new leadership and shareholders. The airline’s revival has been spearheaded by Datuk Bernard Francis, a Malaysian-born aviation expert, who has guided TransNusa to new heights.

Within just six months of Datuk Francis’ leadership, TransNusa launched its first international route, connecting Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. The successful completion of the first anniversary of this route on April 14, 2024, is a testament to the airline’s commitment to international expansion.

TransNusa’s success has been driven by its commitment to diversifying its service offerings. The airline has become the first in Indonesia—and worldwide—to establish a new domestic route linking Bali and Manado. Furthermore, it became the second Indonesian airline to secure permission to operate flights to China, expanding pricing and route options for passengers. TransNusa also achieved the distinction of being the first airline outside China to operate the COMAC ARJ21-700 aircraft, demonstrating its dedication to embracing new technologies and aircraft models.

TransNusa’s latest venture into medical tourism marks another significant step forward in its strategic growth plan. The airline’s commitment to providing comprehensive services, including travel and healthcare, positions it as a leader in the aviation industry, offering innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of its passengers.
