Held in conjunction with the annual Koothandavar festival, the pageant saw a remarkable number of entries from transgender persons across the state. Contestants were evaluated on their general knowledge, social awareness, and contributions to the transgender community. Riya emerged victorious, followed by Megha from Coimbatore and Evangeline John from Chennai as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
The crowning ceremony was officiated by P. Mohanambal, president of the South India Transgenders Federation. The Koothandavar temple festival, which attracts hundreds of transgender persons annually, also featured awareness campaigns and mobile HIV testing. The festivities will culminate in a grand car procession on April 24, 2023.
