Traveloka and Cebu Pacific Team Up to Boost Philippine Tourism

Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s leading travel platform, has formed a strategic partnership with the Filipino budget airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) to boost foreign tourism to the Philippines. The collaboration involves integrating an application programming interface (API) that allows inbound travelers to browse CEB flights directly on Traveloka’s app.

This partnership aligns with Traveloka’s dedication to aiding the recovery of Southeast Asia’s tourism industry post-pandemic and is anticipated to significantly enhance the growth of tourism in the Philippines by simplifying the process for foreign tourists to discover the country’s appealing destinations.

According to Cebu Pacific’s flight data, travelers from Indonesia are among the primary international visitors to the Philippines, followed by visitors from Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia. The Philippines, a picturesque archipelago in Southeast Asia, remains a favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists. In the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam was the 15th highest country in terms of tourist arrivals to the Philippines out of 233 countries, according to the Philippine Department of Tourism.

Furthermore, in December 2023, Cebu Pacific launched a direct flight service from Manila, Philippines to Da Nang, Vietnam, operating three times daily. This new route, along with the partnership between CEB and Traveloka, is set to further increase the influx of Vietnamese visitors to the Philippines.

Iko Putera, CEO of Transport Traveloka, said: “Our partnership with Cebu Pacific, one of the premier and most affordable airlines for the Philippines, will provide diverse possibilities for travelers and spearhead innovation to deliver optimal solutions for customers. We will also contribute to growth within the tourism industry in the Philippines and the wider region.”

Xander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Traveloka to support the local tourism industry and make traveling to the Philippines much easier.”

The partnership between Traveloka and Cebu Pacific provides international travelers with more flight options to discover the Philippines and its remarkable tourist destinations.
