Tributes have been pouring out for American rapper Chris King, who was shot and killed in Nashville, Tennessee. King was 32-years-old and was close friends with Justin Bieber, Trippie Redd, and other musicians. The California-born rapper briefly lived with Bieber as well.
King, whose real name was Christopher Cheeks, founded Snotty Nose Records and released popular tracks such as “Evil Kunevil,” “Dallas,” and “GOD OF WAR.” He was in an attempted armed robbery while he was with friends; he was pronounced dead in the hospital.
King has received waves of tributes from celebrities on social media. “Love you, bro,” Bieber wrote on his Instagram story, with a photo of him and the rapper hugging. “This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise, brother.”
Trippie Redd also honored King on his Instagram with two photos. The Topanga rapper wrote: “I love you until we meet again, twin! I would not be where I am today without [Chris King]. He introduced me to [Elliot Grainge] & [Milo Stokes] and he had the best energy always; he had so many friends and it shows. I love you guys for supporting one of my best friends ever.”
Machine Gun Kelly commented on Trippie Redd’s post: “Chris was rare.”
Keke Palmer posted a photo of her face-timing King. “Chris King! I wish I had more photos, but it’s actually perfect because this is exactly how it began,” Palmer wrote in a caption. “iChat sessions with you and Marcel back in the iMuch days. Wow. I can’t believe I’m saying rest in peace. This is terrible. I really don’t know what to say,” she wrote.
She added: “I just want to share that I loved you and I remember all the city walk, grove moments. That was my high school. When we were babies, before everyone knew you were a real rockstar.”
“We were kids! And you always knew how to make everyone laugh. Your kindness was present no matter what room you were in; everybody was and wanted to be your friend. We will miss you until we meet again, rest heavenly brother,” she continued.
