In a new batch of unsealed exhibits in Trump’s classified documents case, it has emerged that former President Donald Trump received election-related documents from Jeffrey Clark, a former official at the Department of Justice. This information was brought to light by Kyle Cheney of Politico, who described it as “some wild stuff.” The redacted interview, involving an individual referred to as “Person 24,” revealed attempts to exaggerate a relationship with Trump and claims that he had declassified everything. It was also noted that Trump family members were apparently used to pressure him into returning classified documents to the U.S. government. The informant stated that it “was not worth all the aggravation” to keep the documents. Furthermore, the interviewee claimed to have witnessed Jeff Clark handing Trump a letter regarding Georgia electors. Clark has been implicated in a Georgia election interference case, where a co-conspirator aimed to use false electors to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
