Trump Blasts ‘Biden Show Trial’ in New Jersey Rally, Fuels Speculations on 2024 Election

Addressing a campaign rally in Wildwood, N.J., on Saturday, former US President Donald Trump vehemently criticized incumbent Joe Biden over criminal charges against him, referring to it as a ‘Biden show trial.’ Trump asserted that the charges against him were politically motivated and intentionally timed to hinder his ability to campaign ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential elections. Despite Trump’s concerns about a potential rematch against Biden, a new poll reveals an increase in support for Trump in critical swing states if he is found guilty in the hush money trial. The poll, conducted by The Telegraph by Redfield & Wilton Strategies, surveyed voters in key states, including Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The results indicate that voters in these states are more likely to support Trump if he is found guilty in the Stormy Daniels case.

Stephanie A. Gregory Clifford, professionally known as Stormy Daniels, has provided damning testimony against Trump this week, recounting details of their alleged affair, which took place while former First Lady Melania Trump was pregnant.

The poll results suggest that up to 35 percent of voters in Georgia, a crucial swing state in the 2020 presidential campaign, would support Trump more if he is convicted. While 27 percent of voters indicated they would support him less, 30 percent stated their choices would remain unaffected. In Arizona, another closely contested state in the 2020 election, voters were equally divided on whether they would vote for Trump if he was found guilty.

Voters polled in Pennsylvania were somewhat less likely to support Trump in the event of a guilty verdict. If convicted, Trump would become the first former US president to be found guilty of a felony. He faces 91 felony accusations in four separate criminal prosecutions.

Despite Trump’s rejection of all allegations and claims of a ‘rigged’ and ‘corrupt’ hush money trial, a majority of people in six states believe he will receive a fair trial. The case will resume on Monday with Michael Cohen, Trump’s former ex-lawyer, scheduled to testify against Trump.
