Alina Habba, a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump’s campaign and a prominent attorney on his legal team, is making waves in the crucial swing state of Michigan. With a strong focus on gaining Arab support, Habba, a first-generation American with Iraqi heritage, has been actively traversing the state, attending numerous events and engaging in meetings with Arab American communities, including Indian Americans and Chaldean Americans.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Habba expressed her pride in connecting with these communities, emphasizing their strong faith and close-knit nature. “Many of us have roots in countries where we left behind persecution for the freedom that we now cherish,” she stated, underscoring the importance of safeguarding these freedoms within the United States. “We cannot allow our country to go down the same dangerous path,” she added, advocating for Trump as the only candidate who can ensure the preservation of American values and way of life.
Habba’s efforts are strategically aimed at the Metro Detroit area, which boasts the largest population of Iraqis outside of Iraq, estimated at 187,000 individuals. Her outreach has included visits to the Chaldean Foundation and engagement with the local community, including interactions with children at a local school and meetings with community leaders.
Habba highlights the appeal of Trump’s policies to the Chaldean community, known for its strong faith and close family ties. “The Chaldean community is driven by its faith and close-knit family ties,” she remarked, adding that Trump’s policies resonate with independents, moderates, and traditional Republicans, especially in battleground states like Michigan.
Furthering the campaign’s efforts, Habba participated in a “Trump 47 Agenda Policy Tour” event alongside other prominent figures including Vivek Ramaswamy, Rep. Tim Walberg, and Tudor Dixon in Farmington Hills. “The Trump 47 Policy Tour is working, and we’re seeing results in key areas like Oakland County,” she emphasized, highlighting the strong support from the Chaldean community, particularly its 10 Catholic churches in Metro-Detroit, as a united force behind President Trump.
While key swing states like North Carolina, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada are considered toss-ups according to the latest Fox News Power Rankings, Michigan is currently listed as “lean Democrat.” Habba’s active campaigning in Michigan, targeting specific communities like the Arab American population, demonstrates the Trump campaign’s focus on mobilizing support in key areas to potentially shift the electoral landscape in their favor.
