Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has defended his use of personal attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris, expressing frustration with her actions and policies. When questioned by reporters about advice from some Republicans suggesting he exercise more restraint, Trump asserted that he feels justified in making disparaging comments about his opponent.
“As far as the personal attacks, I’m very angry at her because of what she’s done to the country,” Trump stated. He went on to say, “I think I’m entitled to personal attacks. I don’t have a lot of respect for her. I don’t have a lot of respect for her intelligence, and I think she’ll be a terrible president.” These comments represent a continuation of Trump’s pattern of attacking Harris personally. He even claimed that Harris had previously referred to him as “weird.”
Trump also addressed a recent statement by former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who suggested he should stop complaining about Harris and focus on policy matters instead. Trump responded by saying he would manage his campaign “my way” but acknowledged her input.
Earlier, Trump had called Harris “fake” during a live interview with X platform owner Elon Musk on Spaces. He accused Harris of adopting his policies and claimed that the current government has failed to address the issue of illegal immigration. Trump also criticized US President Joe Biden, accusing him of “failing miserably” in the presidential debate and calling his election victory a “coup” by Democrats. Notably, Musk, who previously identified as a Democrat, endorsed Trump’s candidacy just two days after an attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally in July.
