Trump Edges Out Harris in Key Swing States: Polls Show Tight Race Ahead of US Election

The 2024 US presidential election is heating up, with the latest polling data suggesting a close race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. While the outcome remains uncertain, recent surveys shed light on the battle for key swing states that will ultimately determine the winner.

According to a poll of likely voters, conducted by AtlasIntel, Trump is narrowly ahead of Harris in several pivotal states. These include North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The poll shows Trump with a lead of 49% to 47.2% over Harris, although it acknowledges that many of these swing states fall within the poll’s two-point margin of error. AtlasIntel emphasizes its track record of accuracy, having successfully predicted outcomes in every swing state during the 2020 election cycle.

However, the picture is not entirely one-sided. A separate poll conducted by the University of Florida’s Election Lab reveals a different scenario in Iowa. This poll, which surveyed 808 likely Iowa voters, indicates that Harris holds a lead of 47% to 44% over Trump. The poll, conducted from October 28 to 31, carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Trump has dismissed the poll showing Harris ahead in Iowa as “fake,” emphasizing his strong support among Iowa farmers. He remains confident in his ability to win the state.

Another poll, conducted by NBC News, indicates a tight race, with both candidates receiving 49% support among registered voters. This poll leaves a mere 2% of voters unsure of their choice.

The campaigns of both candidates are focusing their efforts on battleground states, highlighting their key policy priorities and emphasizing the significance of the election. Harris is framing the election as crucial for protecting fundamental freedoms, constitutional values, and women’s rights, while Trump is focusing on rebuilding the economy and addressing illegal immigration.

In the final days leading up to the election, Trump will hold rallies in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. Harris will address events in Michigan and participate in two rallies in Pennsylvania.

With the election just days away, the race remains tight. The outcome will hinge on voter turnout and the ability of each candidate to sway undecided voters in these critical swing states.
