Trump Lauds Vivek Ramaswamy at Wisconsin Rally, Hints at Future Role in Campaign

At a rally in Wisconsin, former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump showered praise on Indian-origin entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who ended his own presidential bid earlier this year and endorsed Trump as the ‘best president of the 21st century.’ Trump described Ramaswamy as “smart” and hinted at a future role for him in his campaign. While discussing tariff deals with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump expressed confidence in Ramaswamy’s abilities, stating, “If I gave it to Vivek to do, he’d pull it off.”

During the rally, Ramaswamy was introduced as “The Fake Vivek,” a label reminiscent of Trump’s characteristic insults and also mentioned in a leaked memo instructing then-presidential candidate Ron DeSantis to use this moniker. However, Ramaswamy embraced this label, drawing comparisons between Trump and the signers of the Declaration of Independence, particularly likening him to George Washington. He referred to Trump as “the George Washington of our era.”

A spokesperson for Ramaswamy confirmed to the New York Post that while media speculation swirls around his potential involvement in the Trump campaign, Vivek’s primary focus is ensuring President Trump’s reelection to advance the “America First” agenda. The spokesperson highlighted Ramaswamy’s dedication to driving private sector change and economic reform, as well as his commitment to combating what he perceives as harmful trends like the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) movement in corporate America.

The Republican Party’s national convention, scheduled for July 15 to 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is expected to formally nominate Donald Trump as the party’s candidate for the upcoming general election on November 5. It remains to be seen what specific role Ramaswamy will play in the campaign, but his presence at the rally and Trump’s comments suggest a continued partnership between the two.
