Former President Donald Trump wasn’t caught off guard by pop superstar Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. During a call-in to ‘Fox & Friends’ on Wednesday morning, Trump claimed that the singer’s endorsement was predictable, stating, “It was just a question of time. She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him.” He clarified that he is “not a Taylor Swift fan.”
Trump attributed Swift’s political leanings to her personality, commenting, “But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Swift’s endorsement of Harris came just minutes after the Democratic nominee’s presidential debate against her Republican opponent, Donald Trump. In an Instagram post, Swift expressed her support for Harris, stating, “I’ve made my choice. I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
Meanwhile, Trump, during his ‘Fox & Friends’ call-in, seemed to express a preference for another celebrity, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He quipped, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better.” Trump referenced Mahomes’ public support, indicating her admiration for him after she liked a Trump Instagram post outlining the ‘2024 GOP platform.’ Mahomes then responded to criticism of her support on Instagram Stories, writing, “I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
Swift and Brittany Mahomes were spotted together at the U.S. Open, where they shared a warm embrace. Their respective political affiliations have sparked a discussion about celebrity endorsements and the role of public figures in influencing political opinions.
