Trump Speaks Out on Cohen and Political Climate in Exclusive Interview

Former President Donald Trump, speaking via satellite from New York, recently sat down with Action News’ Walter Perez for an exclusive interview. The interview was conducted before Trump’s return to a Manhattan courtroom for his historic criminal trial.

Trump, who is currently facing a hush-money criminal trial in Manhattan, did not hold back in airing his grievances over one of the key witnesses in the case, Michael Cohen. Despite a gag order that requires him not to publicly discuss witnesses, jurors, or court employees, Trump called Cohen a convicted liar with no credibility and questioned his motives.

In his conversation with Action News, Trump also touched on a range of other topics, including immigration, abortion, and the economy. He expressed his concerns about the influx of people into the country, many of whom he claimed are from jails. He also criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy and declared him the worst president in U.S. history.

Trump’s comments came as no surprise to Dr. Susan Liebell, a Political Science Professor at St. Joseph’s University. She believes Trump is attempting to control the narrative surrounding his trial by presenting himself as a victim of political persecution.

The Biden Administration declined to comment directly on Trump’s remarks, but State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta, speaking on Biden’s behalf, emphasized the importance of preserving American democracy in the face of challenges.

The most recent Franklin & Marshall College poll reveals a tight presidential race in Pennsylvania, with Biden holding a narrow lead over Trump. Pennsylvania is considered a battleground state that could go either way in the upcoming election.
