Trump vs. Harris: Dueling Rallies on Election Eve as Pennsylvania and Michigan Remain Tight Races

The 2024 presidential election is heating up as Election Day approaches, and both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are making their final pushes in key battleground states. With Pennsylvania and Michigan remaining tight races, the candidates are utilizing strong rhetoric and focusing on key issues to sway voters.

Harris, who is seeking to contrast her message with what she has described as Trump’s divisive rhetoric, has made a notable shift in her campaign strategy. For the first time, she has avoided mentioning Trump’s name at her campaign rallies. On Sunday, as she concluded her campaign in Michigan with a rally at Michigan State University, she emphasized a message of unity and optimism. “We have an opportunity in this election to finally turn the page on a decade of politics driven by fear and division,” Harris said. “We are done with that. We are exhausted with that. America is ready for a fresh start, ready for a new way forward where we see our fellow American not as an enemy, but as a neighbor.”

Despite Harris’s attempt at a positive tone, her surrogates have recently taken a more aggressive approach against Trump and his supporters. During a virtual rally with Voto Latino, President Biden took a swipe at Trump’s rally in Madison Square Garden, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made a joke referencing Puerto Rico. Biden, however, went on to make his own headlines with his description of Trump supporters, saying, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American.”

Meanwhile, Trump has been drawing large crowds in Pennsylvania, another crucial battleground state. He has been focusing on issues like immigration and crime, seeking to connect with voters who feel left behind by the current administration. It is worth noting that Trump flipped Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in 2016, but all three turned blue for Biden in 2020.

The race remains tight, and both campaigns are working tirelessly to secure their victories. As voters head to the polls on Tuesday, the outcome of these key battleground states will have a significant impact on the 2024 presidential election.
