The estate of Tupac Shakur is threatening to take legal action against Drake over the rapper’s use of an AI-generated version of Tupac’s voice on a diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar. TMZ has obtained a copy of the cease-and-desist letter sent by Tupac’s estate, which accuses Drake of violating the late rapper’s publicity and legal rights, as well as abusing his legacy.
The estate claims that it never gave approval for Drake to use Tupac’s voice on the track, titled “Taylor Made Freestyle.” The letter gives Drake 24 hours to remove the track and explain how it was made, or else the estate will pursue all of its legal remedies.
In the track, AI Pac raps, “Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior. Engraving your name in some hip hop history. If you deal with this viciously. You seem a little nervous about all the publicity.” Drake’s diss track also included vocals from Snoop Dogg, all through the power of AI. The real Snoop Dogg reacted to the track on Instagram, saying, “They did what? When? How? Are you sure? Y’all have a good night.”
