A tragic plane crash occurred in the jungles of Chacheongsao province, southeast of Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday. The turboprop aircraft, carrying two pilots and seven passengers, was en route from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport to Trat province, known for its beautiful beaches. Sadly, all nine individuals onboard are presumed dead.
Authorities confirmed the crash occurred at approximately 3:10 pm local time (0810 GMT). Chacheongsao governor Chonlatee Yangtrong, speaking at the scene, stated, “We are trying to find those missing, but we believe that they are all dead.”
The passengers included four Thai nationals and five Chinese citizens, among them two children aged 12 and 13.
Over 300 military personnel and volunteers are currently engaged in a challenging search and recovery operation, hampered by heavy rainfall. While some body parts and wreckage have been located, the search continues despite the difficult conditions. “We are not planning to stop until we find them, although there are some waterlogged areas,” said Governor Chonlatee.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. Authorities are determined to determine the factors that led to this devastating accident.
