Popular TV star Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in the hit TV show ‘Anupamaa’, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi headquarters on Wednesday. The addition of Ganguly, who has a large fan base, is likely to benefit the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
After the announcement of her joining the BJP, Ganguly applauded the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not the first time that Ganguly has expressed her admiration for PM Modi. Nearly two months ago, she called her meeting with PM Modi as her “fan girl moment”. Sharing the post on social media, Ganguly said that meeting the Indian prime minister will “go down as one of the most memorable and cherished days of my life”.
The addition of Ganguly to the BJP is seen as a strategic move by the party to attract voters ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP is hoping that Ganguly’s popularity will help them gain support among the large number of TV viewers in India.
