T’way Air, a South Korean low-cost carrier, is aggressively expanding its presence in Europe with the introduction of new routes to Rome and Barcelona. These launches mark the second and third European destinations for the airline, respectively, following its successful debut in Zagreb, Croatia, in May. T’way’s expansion into Europe is driven by conditions imposed by European Union regulators following the merger between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. To ensure competitive balance on European routes, the merger required another South Korean carrier to enter the European market, creating an opportunity for T’way. T’way’s flights to Rome will commence on August 8th with thrice-weekly service, while its Barcelona service will begin on September 11th. The airline’s Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with a capacity of 246 passengers, will operate these new routes. In addition to Rome and Barcelona, T’way is actively pursuing Paris as its next European destination. The airline anticipates commencing ticket sales for these routes once the schedules are finalized, providing enhanced connectivity and travel options for passengers. “Our mission is to offer more choices for travelers and foster increased business and leisure travel between South Korea and Europe,” said a T’way representative. “These new routes will significantly enhance our European network and provide better access to key destinations.” As T’way continues to establish itself in Europe, it aims to become a prominent player in the low-cost long-haul market. The airline’s competitive pricing and focus on popular routes will encourage further travel between Asia and Europe. T’way’s expansion into Europe is a testament to its commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel options for customers.
