Two Agniveers Killed in Shell Explosion During Firing Practice in Nashik

A tragic incident occurred at the Artillery Centre in Nashik Road, Maharashtra, on Thursday afternoon, claiming the lives of two young Indian Army recruits, known as Agniveers. Gohil Vishwaraj Singh, 20, and Saifat Shit, 21, were fatally injured when a shell from an Indian field gun exploded during a routine firing practice session.

According to an official statement, a team of Agniveers was engaged in firing the field gun when the accident happened. The impact of the explosion left both Agniveers with severe injuries. They were immediately transported to MH Hospital, Deolali, but unfortunately, were pronounced dead upon arrival.

Following the incident, Havildar Ajit Kumar lodged a complaint with the Deolali Camp police, leading to the registration of a case under accidental death. The police have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and identify any contributing factors. The investigation is ongoing.
