Two Brothers Sentenced to Death for Gang-Raping and Burning Alive Minor Girl in Rajasthan

The court, presided over by Judge Anil Gupta, classified the case as the “rarest of the rare” during sentencing. Special public prosecutor Mahaveer Singh Kishnawat stated that the accused, Kalu and Kanha, were awarded the death penalty. The crime involved a total of ten accused, including six males and four women. On Saturday, the court convicted Kalu and Kanha for their heinous act, while acquitting seven others who were charged with destroying evidence. However, prosecutor Kishnawat expressed dissatisfaction with the acquittals and announced that they would be challenged in the high court.

The victim’s family endured immense suffering as they searched for her after she went missing on August 2, 2023. Her bracelet and slippers, found near a coal furnace, raised alarm and led to the discovery of her partially burnt body parts in a village pond on August 4.

Police investigations revealed that the accused gang-raped the girl and then disposed of her body in a cruel and barbaric manner. Some body parts were burned in the furnace, while others were discarded in the pond to destroy all traces of the crime.

Bhilwara SP Adarsh Sidhu denounced the incident as a “rarest of the rare cases” and vowed to pursue all available legal avenues to ensure the guilty parties received the maximum punishment. The swift and decisive action taken by the authorities serves as a stark reminder of society’s unwavering commitment to protecting children from such heinous acts of violence.
