Danish authorities are investigating two explosions that took place near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen early Wednesday morning. While no injuries were reported, the blasts caused significant concern.
Police spokesperson Jakob Hansen confirmed the incidents, stating that they occurred in the “immediate proximity” of the Israeli embassy. “Nobody was wounded and we are carrying out a preliminary investigation at the scene,” police announced on social media platform X. However, Hansen emphasized that it is too early to determine whether the explosions are linked to the embassy.
The Israeli embassy resides in Hellerup, a well-to-do suburb north of the Danish capital. This area is home to several other foreign missions, including those representing Iran, Thailand, Turkey, and Romania.
The explosions come at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East. Iran recently launched a barrage of missiles at Israeli territory, prompting Israel to vow retaliation. The escalating conflict has raised global concerns and fueled anxieties over potential regional instability. Danish authorities are actively investigating the Copenhagen incidents to determine the cause and any potential connections to the broader Middle East conflict.
