Two Injured in Stabbing in Downtown Calgary, Police Seek Suspect

Two people were injured in a stabbing incident in downtown Calgary on Monday, prompting police to launch an investigation and seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect.

Calgary police responded to an apartment building in the 600 block of 13th Avenue S.W. in the Beltline at around 9:35 a.m. after receiving reports that a man and a woman had been stabbed. The suspect, described as a Black man in his 20s, had fled the scene prior to the police’s arrival.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported both victims, two adults, to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victims remains unknown.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and appealing for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect.

“The suspect is described as a Black man in his 20s. He was wearing a long black jacket with a circular logo on the left arm, black pants, white socks, black sneakers and a black bandana on his head,” stated police in a press release.

If the suspect is spotted, police urge individuals to avoid approaching him and immediately contact 9-1-1.
