Police Nab Duo for Stealing from Cars Near Tihar Jail
Two individuals, identified as Prakash and Mohammad Sohail, have been apprehended by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts targeting vehicles parked near Tihar Jail. The arrests were made following a meticulous investigation by the Hari Nagar police station team, which had observed a concerning pattern of stolen mobile phones and other valuables from vehicles in the vicinity of the prison.
During a meticulously planned operation, the police team apprehended Prakash in the act of stealing mobile phones and other items from a parked car. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Prakash was a habitual offender with a history of 43 previous cases, including instances of mobile phone theft.
Continuing their investigation, the police discovered that Prakash sold the stolen goods to Sohail, a mobile mechanic who dismantled the devices and sold their spare parts. A subsequent raid led to the arrest of Sohail.
The timely intervention of the police resulted in the recovery of various stolen items, including 11 mobile phones, a wristwatch, two computer tablets, a purse, belts, and other personal belongings. A total of Rs 2,000 in cash was also seized.
The arrested individuals have been charged accordingly, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of their involvement in these thefts. The arrests serve as a reminder of the vigilance and dedication of the Delhi Police in safeguarding the property and safety of citizens.
