Two security personnel were killed and four others were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday. The incident occurred when a security patrol was passing through the area, which is known for its Naxal presence. The blast took place near a forest in the district. The injured personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
The incident comes just days after a similar attack in the same district, in which one security personnel was killed. The Naxalites have been active in the region for many years, and security forces have been engaged in counter-insurgency operations against them.
The latest attack highlights the ongoing security threat posed by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. The state government has been taking steps to combat the Naxal menace, but the insurgents remain a significant challenge.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway. More details about the incident are awaited.
