Two Teenage Girls Found Dead in Uttar Pradesh: Suicide or Foul Play?

A chilling incident unfolded in the village of Bhagautipur, Farrukhabad district, Uttar Pradesh, where two teenage girls were found hanging from a tree on Tuesday morning. The deceased, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old, were discovered bound together by a single dupatta, a traditional Indian scarf.

The girls, who were friends, had left their homes on Monday night to participate in Janmashtami celebrations, a Hindu festival marking the birth of Lord Krishna. Upon their return home, the families noticed their absence. The father of one of the girls, Pappu, reported that his daughter and her friend had mentioned going to the temple for the program after they returned from the initial temple visit.

Pappu, who works on a farm and was fatigued from the day’s work, fell asleep. When he woke up around midnight, he was unable to locate the girls. He searched for them tirelessly but to no avail. His suspicions were aroused, and he expressed his belief that they had been killed and subsequently hanged.

While the family suspects foul play, police officials are leaning towards a suicide. Superintendent of Police (SP) Alok Priyadarshi of Farrukhabad stated that the initial investigation suggests the girls may have taken their own lives. However, he emphasized that the postmortem results will be crucial in clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A mobile phone and SIM card were discovered at the scene, which may hold vital clues. The families of the deceased have filed a case with the police, demanding a thorough investigation into the tragic deaths. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents grappling with questions of what transpired and whether justice will be served.
