Tyrese Maxey Questionable for 76ers in Game 2 Due to Illness

Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey is questionable for Monday night’s Game 2 against the New York Knicks due to an illness. Maxey did not attend Monday’s shootaround at Madison Square Garden.

Maxey’s potential absence would be a significant blow to the 76ers, who are already dealing with an injured Joel Embiid. Embiid fell awkwardly on his left leg late in the second quarter of Game 1 and had to undergo a procedure on his lateral meniscus in February.

Maxey has been a key player for the 76ers this season, averaging 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. He was named an All-Star for the first time in his career and is a finalist for the Most Improved Player award.

The 76ers are 4-8 in the 12 games that Maxey has missed this season. They will need him to be at his best if they want to tie the series against the Knicks.

Game 2 is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday night. The game will be televised on TNT.
