Columbia University
Columbia University has been at the center of the protests, with over 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators arrested last week. The university has canceled in-person classes and locked campus gates to non-students. University President Minouche Shafik expressed sadness over the situation and urged dialogue to de-escalate tensions.
New York University
New York University also witnessed protests that swelled to hundreds of demonstrators. The university warned the crowd to disperse and called in the police after reports of intimidating chants and antisemitic incidents. Dozens of arrests were made, with students expressing outrage at the university’s crackdown.
Yale University
Yale University’s campus gates were closed to the public, and several hundred students and pro-Palestinian supporters held a rally. The university suspended the Harvard Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee for violating school policy during a recent demonstration.
