UAE Launches First Holy Quran TV Channel to Boost Halal Tourism

The United Arab Emirates has taken a significant step towards promoting Islamic teachings and culture, launching its first-ever Holy Quran TV channel. The channel, inaugurated on Friday, August 16th, by Sharjah authorities, operates under the inspiring slogan, “Be with Allah and you will see Allah with you.” This initiative, guided by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aims to bolster Halal tourism in the region.

The channel, a product of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), broadcasts 24/7, delivering a diverse range of content designed to engage a global audience. Viewers can immerse themselves in the beauty of the Holy Quran through recitations, delve into in-depth Quranic studies, and gain insights from insightful lectures. The channel also provides live broadcasts of key religious events, including Friday prayers, Tarawih, and Qiyam prayers during Ramadan.

To further promote religious understanding, the channel will air short educational programs that simplify complex religious concepts for a wider audience. Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, emphasized the crucial role of the Ruler of Sharjah’s support in establishing this channel, highlighting its potential to spread the teachings of the Holy Quran, as reported by Emirates News Agency.

The launch of the Holy Quran TV channel is anticipated to have a significant impact on the UAE’s tourism sector, particularly within the rapidly growing Halal tourism market. This segment of the tourism industry caters to Muslim travelers who seek destinations that align with Islamic principles and values. The channel’s content will serve as a valuable resource for tourists seeking to deepen their understanding of Islamic culture and practices, thereby attracting a broader range of visitors to the UAE.

The UAE’s commitment to Halal tourism is reflected in its continuous investments in infrastructure, digital platforms, and various tourism experiences. The country is strategically positioned as a hub for Middle Eastern tourism and is actively exploring new avenues like eco-tourism, medical tourism, and experiential travel to diversify its tourism offerings. The introduction of the Holy Quran TV channel further strengthens the UAE’s position as a leading destination for Halal tourism, contributing to the country’s economic growth and cultural exchange.
