UEFA, the governing body of European football, has announced a limit on ticket prices that home clubs can charge visiting fans in their three main men’s club competitions. This policy aims to make attending matches more accessible for supporters. The new rule, which takes effect immediately for the current season, sets a maximum price of €60 ($66.40) for away fans in the Champions League, €40 for the Europa League, and €20 for the Conference League.
This move coincides with the introduction of a new tournament format for the Champions League, featuring a single league with 36 teams and more matches. UEFA plans to further reduce ticket prices in the future as this format evolves. The organization believes this initiative will contribute to a more affordable and equitable experience for supporters across all competitions. By capping ticket prices for away fans, UEFA hopes to encourage a greater sense of unity and shared passion for the sport, fostering a more inclusive and accessible environment for all football enthusiasts.
