The National Testing Agency (NTA) is anticipated to release the admit cards for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 re-exam soon. While the NTA has not yet revealed a specific date and time for the release, registered candidates will be able to download their hall tickets from the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The re-examination, scheduled to be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode, is set to take place from August 21, 2024, and will conclude on September 4, 2024. Candidates will need their login credentials, including their application number and date of birth, to access and download their admit cards.
It is important to note that the UGC NET June 2024 exam was initially conducted on June 18 in pen and paper format, but it was subsequently canceled due to concerns about the integrity of the examination. This decision was made after the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) provided information suggesting potential compromises.
The NTA, in an official notification, stated that the UGC – NET June 2024 would be conducted to award Junior Research Fellowships and appointments as Assistant Professors, as well as for appointments as Assistant Professors and admissions to Ph.D. programs, and for admissions to Ph.D. programs only, across 83 subjects. The examination would be conducted in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode on June 18, 2024.
The exam pattern, as prescribed by the NTA, comprises two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total duration for both papers is three hours. Both papers consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). A total of 150 questions are asked, with 50 questions in Paper 1 and 100 questions in Paper 2. Importantly, there is no negative marking in the exam.
The NTA has also indicated that the notification regarding the city of the examination center will be displayed on the NTA websites, ugcnet.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in, 10 days prior to the examination.
Candidates are advised to visit the NTA websites, www.nta.ac.in and https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in, for the latest updates. For any further clarification related to the UGC – NET June 2024 re-exam, candidates can contact 011-40759000 or email ugcnet@nta.ac.in.
