Motorists should make it a habit to check their tire pressures every couple of weeks. The recommended pressure levels can be found in the vehicle’s handbook, on the driver’s door sill, or inside the fuel tank flap. Failing to maintain proper tire pressure can lead to increased fuel costs and decreased vehicle performance.

With fuel prices steadily rising, underinflated tires become an even more costly problem. Unleaded petrol prices have increased by around 9p per liter since the start of the year, while diesel prices have risen from 147.62p per liter to 157.99p by April. Motoring experts urge road users to address underinflated tires immediately to prevent further fuel wastage and financial burden.
