United Airlines and Chase Bank have teamed up to offer a new summer promotion for MileagePlus frequent flyer program members called ‘Travelers Take Your Pick.’ This exclusive card spend offer, valid from July 1 to September 30, allows customers to personalize their reward earnings. Starting this month, MileagePlus members can log in and choose from three reward options: United travel credit, Premier qualifying points (PQP), or bonus miles. This initiative aims to give travelers more control over their benefits, catering to a wide range of travel styles and preferences. To participate, customers must register and select their preferred bonus reward by September 2024. The promotion applies to all qualifying purchases made from July 1st. United Airlines aims to provide a more personalized approach to reward accumulation, potentially changing how travelers engage with airline loyalty programs. Beyond the promotional period, customers can continue to enjoy additional perks through co-branded credit cards offered by United and Chase, such as the United Club Infinite Card. This card allows customers to earn miles on purchases made by the cardholder or any authorized user. However, certain transactions, such as balance transfers, cash advances, and purchases of lottery tickets or casino gaming chips, do not earn miles. One of the most attractive benefits is access to United’s extensive network of United Club Lounges.
Meanwhile, low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines, a competitor to United in some respects, has launched its own summer promotion with a unique twist. According to Flyertalk, Frontier is hosting a giveaway where potential flyers can enter by completing an entry form on the airline’s website. Entrants must share their “Dream Vacation Destination” city that Frontier flies to for their family. The grand prize includes one year of free flights, with the winner receiving four $250 flight vouchers each month for 12 months. Additionally, 100 families will each receive four round-trip flights in the form of four $250 flight vouchers to use on their chosen vacation. Winners are responsible for any taxes and fees when using their vouchers for free flights.
