United Airlines Launches Nonstop Service Between Washington Dulles and Palm Springs

United Airlines has announced the launch of a new seasonal nonstop service between Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) starting on December 19th, 2023. This exciting new route will provide the first-ever direct connection between Washington, D.C. and Palm Springs, making it easier than ever for travelers to experience the natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality of the Greater Palm Springs area.

The daily flight will be operated using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering 150 standard seats in United Economy and 16 recliner seats in United First, providing a comfortable and convenient travel experience. The aircraft will feature WiFi, power outlets, and seatback screens with a variety of inflight entertainment options.

Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, highlighted the significance of the new service: ‘This service will be the first connection ever between Washington, DC and Palm Springs and create unparalleled access to Palm Springs from the East Coast and Europe through one of United’s fastest-growing hubs. We pride ourselves on offering unique, world-class destinations and are excited to offer our customers more service to beautiful Greater Palm Springs.’

Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs, expressed his excitement about the new route: ‘This new route offers a convenient and seamless travel option for our visitors from the East Coast, making it easier than ever to experience the natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality of Greater Palm Springs. We look forward to providing our new guests with an unforgettable desert oasis experience.’

The addition of this new route expands United Airlines’ operations at PSP, where it will offer 14 daily flights this winter. United currently serves five other major destinations from PSP: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Denver International Airport (DEN), and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). This expansion is part of United Airlines’ strategy to offer more comprehensive travel options and enhance passenger experience.

By connecting IAD to PSP, United Airlines will link passengers to its extensive network at Washington Dulles, which includes over 260 flights to more than 100 international and domestic destinations. This new route will make travel between the East Coast and Palm Springs more efficient and enjoyable, providing travelers with easier access to the diverse attractions and business opportunities in both regions.
