Employee Reports Co-Worker Assault

On April 21st at 9:10 PM, an employee of Geraci’s reported to police that a co-worker had been assaulted at a bus stop in front of Key Bank. The injured person, a 20-year-old Cleveland Heights man, was treated for cuts to his arm and hand and taken to the hospital. He reported that a tall, chubby man had demanded money from him and then assaulted him.

Teens Detained for Throwing Carts Over Garage Railing

On April 15th at 4:35 PM, police were dispatched to the University Square parking garage’s fourth floor, where youths were attempting to throw carts over the railing and out of the garage. The teens also reportedly threw rocks at vacant buildings below. Police detained three Cleveland Heights boys, ages 17, 16, and 15, and released them to their guardians. An investigation is ongoing for possible charges through Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

Hyundai Genesis Stolen from Driveway

A 43-year-old man reported on April 16th at 9:15 AM that his 2023 Hyundai Genesis SW had been stolen from his driveway located in the 4300 block of University Parkway overnight.

Shoplifter Detained at Target

On April 17th at 12:05 PM, police were called to Target, where loss prevention had detained a 27-year-old Cleveland man for allegedly stealing two DVDs totaling $70.98. The man is also a suspect in an April 2nd theft from the store of two DVDs worth a combined $52.98. Police issued the man two theft citations.

A second 27-year-old Cleveland man was arrested at Target on April 17th at 6 PM for the theft of $927.39 worth of electronics merchandise. He was cited for theft.

Physical Altercation at Residence

Police responded to a Cedar Road residence on April 17th at 6:35 PM, where an argument between two women had escalated into a physical altercation. Both women, aged 23 and from University Heights and Bedford, were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Stolen Ford Fusion Recovered


A resident reported on April 17th at 8:30 PM that their rented 2014 Ford Fusion had been stolen. The vehicle was later recovered after it had been involved in a crash in Cleveland.

Assaults Reported by Juveniles


A Cleveland Heights boy and girl, both 15, reported on April 18th at 11:15 AM that they had been assaulted the day before in the 3400 block of Raymont Boulevard by a 44-year-old Cleveland Heights man and his 18-year-old daughter. The incident reportedly occurred following a traffic altercation. The boy had a mark under his eye. Police are gathering information and investigating.

Physical Altercation at Pet Food Store

Officers were dispatched to Hollywood Feed, a pet food store, on April 21st at 10:50 AM on a report of a physical altercation. Police found two victims who had been assaulted by a male suspect: a 23-year-old Eastlake woman and a 29-year-old Shaker Heights man. Both victims reported being punched in the face but refused medical attention. Police apprehended the suspect, a 33-year-old University Heights man, at the nearby Bob Evans restaurant and arrested him for assault.

Shoplifter Arrested at Macy’s


A 17-year-old South Euclid girl was arrested on April 21st at 4:15 PM at Macy’s for stealing merchandise valued at $641.17. Police charged the girl with theft and released her to her mother.
