Visa-Free Entry for Indian Passport Holders: Unlocking New Destinations
In a bid to boost tourism and streamline travel plans for visitors from India, several countries have implemented visa-free policies. These countries include Sri Lanka, Thailand, Iran, Kenya, and Malaysia.
Sri Lanka:
On May 6th, the Sri Lankan government announced the extension of visa-free entry for Indian citizens and other select countries until May 31st. This means visitors from India can now enjoy a 30-day visa-free stay in Sri Lanka. However, it’s important to note that an online visa application is required prior to arrival via the official website: www.srilankaevisa.lkstay.
Thailand:
Thailand has extended its visa exemption program for Indian visitors for six months, until November 11th. Tourists from India can now enter Thailand visa-free for a period of 30 days.
Iran:
Effective February 4th, Iran has eliminated visa requirements for Indian passport holders for tourism purposes. Visitors can enter Iran once every six months for a maximum of 15 days.
Kenya:
Indian citizens can enter Kenya visa-free, but an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is necessary. This eTA can be obtained by registering on the Immigration and Citizen Services portal before arrival.
Malaysia:
As of December 1st, Indian visitors are permitted to stay in Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days. These visa-free privileges apply only to air travel.
These visa-free policies offer an excellent opportunity for Indian passport holders to explore new destinations, experience diverse cultures, and indulge in breathtaking natural landscapes without the hassle of lengthy visa applications.
