UP’s Transformation: From Country-Made Pistols to Cannon Balls, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the remarkable transformation of Uttar Pradesh, once known for producing country-made pistols, to now being a hub for manufacturing cannon balls. Addressing a rally in Lalitpur, Shah attributed this progress to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.

Shah emphasized the establishment of a defense corridor in Bundelkhand, where cannon balls are now produced. He asserted that if Pakistan engages in any hostility, these shells will be used to defend and protect the nation.

In a veiled attack on the Opposition, Shah referred to them as ‘desi Angrez’ and urged Bundelkhand to resist their influence. He also strongly criticized Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks on Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, stating that India is unyielding in its determination to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Jhansi Parliamentary constituency, which covers segments in Jhansi and Lalitpur districts, will see a fierce contest between sitting BJP MP Anurag Sharma and Congress candidate Pradeep Jain ‘Aditya.’ The fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, which includes Jhansi, will take place on May 20.
