The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2023. A total of 271 candidates have been selected for admission to prestigious military academies. This includes the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, for the 120th Short Service Commission Course (Non-Technical) for Men and the 34th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course, commencing in October 2024.
The merit list comprises candidates selected based on their performance in the examination conducted by UPSC and subsequent interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence. According to government notifications, there are 169 vacancies for men and 16 for women in these courses. It is crucial to note that medical examination results were not considered while preparing the merit list. All selections are provisional, pending verification of candidates’ Date of Birth and Educational Qualifications by Army Headquarters.
Candidates can access their individual results and marks on the UPSC website (http://www.upsc.gov.in) within 15 days from the declaration date. These scores will be accessible for viewing for a period of 30 days. The Commission’s website also provides details regarding non-recommended candidates’ scores and other relevant information. For further inquiries, candidates can visit the UPSC Facilitation Counter located near the Examination Hall Building on working days between 10.00 AM and 5.00 PM.
