UPSC Announces Final Results for Indian Forest Service Exam 2023

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2023. The announcement follows a rigorous selection process that began with the written exam held from November 26th to December 3rd, 2023. The process culminated in personality test interviews held from April 22nd to May 1st, 2024. Based on their performance, 147 candidates have been recommended for appointment to the prestigious Indian Forest Service. The successful candidates represent a diverse range of backgrounds, with 43 from the General category, 20 from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 51 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 22 from Scheduled Castes (SC), and 11 from Scheduled Tribes (ST). It’s important to note that three vacancies for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) could not be filled due to a lack of suitable candidates and will be carried forward to the next recruitment year. Final appointments will be made by the government based on the number of available vacancies and subject to candidates fulfilling all eligibility criteria and completing necessary verifications. As reported by the government, there are a total of 150 vacancies available, including eight specifically reserved for PwBD candidates. The UPSC offers a “Facilitation Counter” for candidates seeking information or clarification regarding the examination or recruitment process. This counter is located near the Examination Hall Building on the UPSC campus and operates on weekdays between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Additionally, the results are available for viewing on the UPSC website (www.upsc.gov.in). While the results are available now, individual candidate marks will be uploaded to the website within 15 days of the result declaration.
