The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024. Candidates who participated in the exam can now check their results on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024 were held across the country on June 16th at various exam centers. A total of over 13.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in two shifts. The exam covered two papers: General Studies and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).
To access your results, follow these steps:
1. Go to the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
2. Click on the “UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Result 2024” link available on the homepage.
3. A new page will appear; enter your UPSC CSE Roll Number/Registration Number, and Date of Birth (DOB).
4. Click on “submit” and the result will be displayed on your screen.
5. Check and download the UPSC CSE Prelims Results 2024.
6. Take a printout, and keep a hard copy for future reference.
Here’s a breakdown of the exam papers:

General Studies (Paper I):
This paper included topics such as Indian polity, Geography, History, Indian economy, Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology, and International relations.*
Civil Services Aptitude Test (Paper 2):
This paper consisted of reasoning and analytical questions, reading comprehension questions, and decision-making questions.The examination comprised objective-type questions with four options each, carrying a total of 400 marks. Candidates who successfully clear the Prelims exam will be eligible to appear in the next phase, which is the UPSC Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2024, followed by the Interview or Personality Test.
To pass the UPSC CSE Prelims examination, a candidate must secure a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper 2 and meet the overall qualifying marks in General Studies Paper 1.
