UPSC Postpones Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2025, Reopens Application Window

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a significant change to the upcoming Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2025. In response to a shift in the recruitment process for Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officers, the exam has been postponed, and the application window has reopened for new applicants. This move comes after the Union government decided that IRMS recruitment would now be conducted through both the Civil Services Examinations and the ESE.

To provide ample time for aspirants to prepare for the revised exam, the UPSC has rescheduled the ESE (Preliminary) and ESE (Main) Exam, 2025. The preliminary exam will now be held on June 8, 2025, and the main exam on August 10, 2025.

The UPSC has also announced a new application window for prospective candidates. This window will be open from October 18, 2024, to November 22, 2024. Following this, a correction window will be available for seven days, starting on November 23, 2024, allowing candidates to edit their application details.

Previously, the application window for ESE 2025 was open from September 18 to October 8, 2024. However, due to the inclusion of IRMS in the exam, the opening of the correction window from October 9 was put on hold.

It is important to note that candidates who had already applied during the initial application window do not need to apply again. However, they can update their details if necessary during the new application window or the correction/edit window.

This postponement and reopening of the application window represent a significant adjustment to the ESE 2025 schedule. Aspirants are advised to closely follow the UPSC’s official notifications and website for updated information regarding the exam and application process.
