US and Indian Security Officials Identify RAW Agent in Alleged Assassination Plot

US and Indian security officials have pinpointed a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent as the alleged mastermind behind a plot to assassinate Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil. The officials and a US indictment assert that the RAW officer transmitted information about Pannun’s whereabouts in New York, specifically his residential address. Once the would-be assassins verified his location, they indicated that it would serve as the green light for the operation. US intelligence agencies have determined that the operation targeting Pannun was sanctioned by the RAW chief at the time. This finding aligns with accounts provided by former senior Indian security officials familiar with the operation. However, the list of Indian officials allegedly involved doesn’t stop there. According to the report, US spy agencies have tentatively connected India’s National Security Adviser to the plot, although they emphasize the absence of definitive evidence. The report underscores that its analysis of Indian assassination plots in North America is based on interviews with over three dozen current and former senior officials in the relevant agencies. The report emphasizes that Yadav’s identity and affiliation provide the clearest evidence to date that the assassination scheme originated within the Indian spy service. Current and former Western security officials have indicated the involvement of higher-ranking RAW officials as well. The United States reportedly thwarted the attempt to assassinate Khalistan separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on US soil, acknowledging that they acted on intelligence inputs. The alleged plot against Pannun in the US coincided with the June 18th shooting of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, Canada’s British Columbia province. Western officials have also linked Yadav to that operation.
