US Secret Service Agent Supporting Vice President Harris Hospitalized After ‘Distressing Behavior’
A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris was removed from duty and hospitalized on Monday morning, April 22nd, due to “distressing behavior” exhibited at Joint Base Andrews.
The agent, who was not identified, began displaying erratic behavior and was involved in a physical altercation with another officer. According to the Secret Service, the agent was removed from their assignment while medical personnel were summoned. The Vice President was not present at the airbase during the incident.
The agent was later handcuffed and detained by fellow agents and taken to a hospital for evaluation. The Secret Service is conducting an investigation into the incident, and the agent’s ability to return to duty will be evaluated based on their medical status and disciplinary implications. The agent’s medical and disciplinary history may also be reviewed for their top-secret security clearance.
As of now, the incident is being handled primarily as a medical issue rather than a disciplinary problem.
