USC Men’s Basketball Team Unveils Future Roster with Isaiah Elohim Commitment

With the departure of several key players and a coaching change, the USC men’s basketball team is undergoing a complete roster overhaul. Newly hired head coach Eric Musselman has been forced to approach building the Trojans’ roster through the transfer portal, but he has also taken a step towards building the program’s future with the commitment of Sierra Canyon High standout Isaiah Elohim.

Elohim, widely regarded as one of the best prospects in California in the class of 2024, is the first high school recruit Musselman has landed since being introduced as USC’s coach in April. The 6-foot-5 guard is a local product with a game perfectly tailored to Musselman’s previous Arkansas teams built on slashing and athleticism.

In addition to Elohim’s commitment, Musselman has also added several intriguing mid-major transfers, including Josh Cohen, Sr. from UMass, Clark Slajchert, Sr. from Penn, Bryce Pope, Sr. from UC San Diego, Saint Thomas, Jr. from Northern Colorado, Matt Knowling, Sr. from Yale, and Rashaun Agee, Sr. from Bowling Green.

These additions give USC a clear identity, with Musselman adding both shooting and versatile, athletic transfers to his frontcourt. Just a few months remain, ultimately, to fit the pieces together.
