USPACE Technology Group Limited (USPACE) has announced a strategic partnership with the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) to expand its presence in the rapidly growing African space market. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for USPACE, signifying its commitment to establishing a robust aerospace ecosystem within the continent.
The partnership encompasses a wide range of initiatives, including the establishment of joint venture in Cairo, Egypt. This joint venture will be one of the first commercialized aerospace companies in Egypt, signifying a major step forward for the Egyptian space industry.
USPACE and EgSA have also committed to establishing centers for satellite manufacturing, payload design and manufacturing, and component and precision manufacturing at the Egyptian Space City in Cairo. Additionally, they will collaborate on building an integrated satellite constellation for remote sensing and communication across Africa, also based at the Egyptian Space City. This constellation will provide valuable data for various applications, including environmental monitoring, disaster management, and communication infrastructure.
The partnership will also see the creation of a globally oriented space laboratory in Cairo. This laboratory will serve as a hub for research and development, facilitating collaboration between scientists and engineers from across the globe.
Beyond these specific projects, the partnership will foster comprehensive cooperation in space technology, encompassing a wide range of activities including design, programming, component and subsystem manufacturing, space payload development, and satellite assembly, integration, and testing.
The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), established in 2018, is headquartered at the Egyptian Space City, which is also the headquarters of the African Space Agency. EgSA is a government organization focused on acquiring space technology and satellite launch capabilities to achieve the goals of the national sustainable development strategy, known as Egypt – SDS2030.
This strategic partnership will allow USPACE to leverage EgSA’s existing aerospace technologies, facilities, and infrastructure, including satellite manufacturing plants and facilities at the Egyptian Space City. USPACE will also gain access to EgSA’s established network with governmental space agencies in the region, creating new collaboration opportunities with other market players and governmental agencies. This partnership further strengthens USPACE’s position in the African continent.
USPACE’s globalization strategy is steadily advancing, and the company is actively building a complete aerospace ecosystem while innovating and developing core satellite products. On July 25, 2024, marking the first anniversary of the establishment of USPACE’s ASPACE Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center, the company unveiled its disruptively low-priced commercial optical satellites on its official website. These satellites offer resolutions ranging from 5 meters to 0.5 meters and are priced between USD35,000 and USD990,000. The most notable in the market is the commercial optical satellite with a high resolution of 0.5 meters, priced at only USD990,000. This innovative pricing strategy makes these satellites accessible to a wider range of customers, potentially accelerating the adoption of space-based technologies for diverse applications.
USPACE also plans to offer nearly a hundred types of satellite components and application services, including separation seats, multi-satellite dispensers, and 0.5-meter resolution lightweight cameras. The company is confident that this series of satellite products will enable it to compete effectively in the global commercial aerospace market, rapidly enhance its brand awareness, expand its customer base, and further increase its market share.
