Utah Weather Forecast: Sunshine and Warm Temperatures Today, Storms Later This Week

Let’s dive into the weather forecast for Utah! Today, Tuesday, will be a terrific day with above-average temperatures and a mix of sun and clouds. Northern Utah can expect temperatures in the 60s and 70s, while southern Utah will see mostly 70s and 80s. Along the Wasatch Front, temperatures will hover around the mid-70s, with some areas in Utah County reaching the upper 70s. Skies will be dry for most of the state, but isolated showers and rumbles are possible in northern Utah this afternoon and evening.

Midweek won’t bring significant changes, with temperatures remaining 10 to 15 degrees above average and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Along the Wasatch Front, there’s a chance of hitting 80 degrees again on Wednesday.

Starting Thursday, we’ll experience a more active weather pattern. The first of a couple of storms will move in on Thursday, bringing scattered showers to northern Utah and dropping daytime highs by about 10 degrees from Wednesday’s temperatures. A more potent system will arrive on Friday into Saturday. This system will bring a cold front, leading to even lower temperatures and a chance of showers statewide.

Despite the temperature drop below seasonal norms, we’ll primarily see valley rain and mountain snow, with most of the snow staying above 7,000 feet. However, there’s a silver lining for allergy sufferers: wet weather can help clean out the air and reduce pollen levels, bringing some relief from the recent high pollen counts. Showers are still possible on Saturday, but the weather will gradually dry out and warm up into the early part of next week. By Monday, temperatures could be running about five degrees above average, with highs near 70 along the Wasatch Front and St. George returning to the low 80s.
